A little sneak peek of Layla + Jesus. 🤍

One of our favorite things about engagement sessions is getting to know our couples, but this one was extra special because we’ve actually known Jesus Ramirez since around 2016! He’s been Chris’s barber for years, so getting to photograph this season of his life and finally meet his beautiful fiancée, Layla, was such an honor.

And can I just say, these two were an absolute joy to photograph! Layla is the sweetest, with such a great sense of humor, and the two of them together had us laughing throughout the entire session. Their personalities and the way they interact with one another made capturing those genuine, in-between moments feel so effortless.

We even had Jesus’s sister there capturing some behind-the-scenes moments, while Chris joined in for a few photos of his own. It was such a sweet evening spent with familiar faces and new ones!

This is one of the things we love most about what we do. It’s more than just taking beautiful photographs. It’s getting to know the people in front of our cameras, creating a space where they can simply be themselves, and documenting their love in a way that feels true to them.

Happy World Photography Day. 🤍📷

The older Chris and I get, the more we realize that photographs are so much more than something beautiful to post or hang on a wall.

They become pieces of our lives we get to keep.

We may never get to go back,
but a photograph lets us visit them again.

The smiles. The laughter. The tears. The love.
The people we were. The people we loved.

One day, these photographs will hold people who have grown older, little ones who aren’t so little anymore, friendships that have changed, and loved ones we would give anything to hug just one more time.

And that is why we will never take this job lightly.

Every wedding we photograph, we know we’re not just capturing how your day looked. We are preserving how it felt—the nervous hands, the happy tears, the way your parents looked at you, the laughter with your favorite people, and all those tiny moments you may not even realize happened.
