You can't book ESL Ballpark. You have to get approved.

It's a working professional venue. Access has to be requested and approved by the Rochester Red Wings organization before a session can be scheduled, and the calendar moves with homestands and groundskeeping. We handle that outreach on your behalf. The only thing it costs you is lead time.

Here's why families do it anyway. For a kid who has spent 12 springs on a diamond, standing on that field with the downtown skyline behind them is the photo. Warning-track dirt, chalk lines, the dugout, rows of red seats, the light towers at dusk. None of it can be faked on a school field.

If your family has spent a decade in those stands, this one is worth planning around.

Rain doesn't cancel a session. It moves it into a parking garage.

The city deck at 39 Stone Street, between the Rundel Library and the river, is the most underrated portrait location downtown. Ramps and columns give you strong leading lines. Every open bay works like a giant softbox, wrapping soft light around your subject against a dark interior. The top deck opens onto the skyline at sunset. And the covered levels stay dry, so a rained-out afternoon becomes a different session instead of a cancelled one.

It's where I send seniors who want an urban, magazine look instead of a flower garden, and it works the same for headshots and branding sessions.

Your kid gets one senior year. Casey spent an evening of his on a pro ball field.

He's given 4 years to a diamond, so the Rochester Red Wings opening their park up for him meant something. Working with Casey was a blast. He showed up with 2 looks and a plan, took every bit of direction, and held the quiet in that dugout frame long enough for me to get it. Outfield wall in a suit with his own bat on his shoulder. Big thanks to the Red Wings. Sessions like this don't happen without them.

I'll always shoot a senior where their sport lives. A field, a rink, a gym at golden hour with nobody else in it. That's the whole job.

A senior session isn't a 20-minute selfie in the park. It's hours of setup for a shot you'll keep forever.

Abraham Lincoln Park sits along the southeastern shore of Irondequoit Bay in Webster, and it's a great pick for clients who want forest trails and waterfront views in the same session. It's got a woodsy, unpolished charm that a lot of manicured parks don't, and it looks completely different depending on when you visit. I bring seniors, couples, and families here often, especially clients with an outdoorsy streak.
