Image City Photography Gallery here in Rochester has accepted my “Wind and Weather” photo from Oswego in their juried competition “Photographers’ Journey 2026.” The show will be on exhibit August 11 through September 6 this year. My first juried competition! It’s such a thrill to have a piece selected.

I got out to Sodus Bay early one morning this past weekend hoping to catch moored sailboats in some light fog. Instead, I got some light fog and heavy rain. Naturally I got soaked taking pictures anyway, but the shots didn’t do the scene justice. So I added a touch of motion blur and other edits in Photoshop until I achieved something similar to what my mind saw that morning.

So this was a mistake. I had a photo of these horses open in Photoshop, and I also had an abstract photo of a blended pinhole camera shot of a tree with pink flowers open. By mistake, I copied and pasted the pinhole flowers image over the top of the horses image. But I liked the result too much to toss it.
