Last week, Heather had the pleasure of teaching a class for members of the DEAR (Daytime Education and Recreation for Retired Adults) program in Penfield titled "Unleash the Memories: Protecting the Photos That Tell Your Story."

With so many of us capturing thousands of photos on our phones, it's easy to let those memories sit untouched. During the class, Heather shared practical tips and resources for organizing, preserving, backing up, printing, and sharing photos with family and friends so those special moments aren't lost over time.

One of the helpful tools discussed was Pic Nic, available in the App Store. Fred and Barb’s son asked us to capture their Life Innerview. After meeting the girl living in the apartment across the hall, Fred quickly started dating Barb and then married her. They enjoyed living in many different countries overseas while raising their children. They share a love of Roman History. One of their favorite retirement trips was a two week hike of Hadrian’s Wall in England while staying in farm bed and breakfasts. We are thankful for the opportunity to document their stories. Act your age, they say. Take it easy, they say. You can't do that anymore, they say. They say a lot of things about older adults. They're wrong. The campaign that we captured for Jewish Home challenges the outdated stereotypes to champion the youthful spirit of older adults. Empowering them to be themselves in a community committed to helping them live their best lives. This campaign was just recognized at the American Advertising Federation Awards with two gold Addys and the title of Best of Show!
