Jenna girl!! Graduated college and is off to teach kindergarten! Jenna did college her way, went to JCCC for two years and then Emporia right here in KC. She knew from an early age that she was going to teach. So excited for her to start her career in Shawnee Mission public schools.

Zabby Hooverpeer is a whole vibe! They came ready with roller skates and a Volkswagen limo! SMN class of 2026. Creativity, fun and something different were on the agenda.

Eli Short, Rockhurst class of 2026. I met Eli through my son’s baseball team last spring. His brother was on it! He was adamant he wanted only one outfit and one location. I just kept teasing and asking what his second outfit was. He is a really great guy! I loved this session.

Guys don’t always love getting their photos taken. It feels silly or weird. Every time I take them, the same thing happens, the guys say “oh that wasn’t bad at all” or even “that was fun”. Most of the time they walk a way saying they are really glad they did it.

I had a call with Hannah and Garrett tonight to talk about their upcoming wedding this month! I cannot believe their engagement session was almost a year ago. I met their cat on zoom, they met my dog both named after the show Suits!! We planned their timeline. I got to give them some help with what to do when and reassure them that whether it rains or not we will have the best day.

I send you a spreadsheet with all the info I need, a timeline, list of people involved in the wedding, vendor names and Instagrams to tag people and a shot list. We go over it a month before the wedding (unless you want it sooner). It’s one of my favorite times with a couple. There are always things they haven’t thought about and most of the time they walk away knowing what questions to ask. They also walk away feeling more relaxed and confident about their wedding. Knowledge is power in this case.

Can’t wait for May 24, 2026 (weirdly, my first wedding of the year)!!

Isaac LaVergne, SMS class of 2026! We did a little mini session with Isaac. He is one talented, fun guy. Grateful to have seen him grow up and can’t wait to see all he will do!

Mini sessions are 20 min and you get 10 photos! Great for the grad who isn’t super into photos but still wants some!

Go see Little Shop of Horrors at Shawnee Mission North this week!! They are playing almost every night!

I had so much fun getting to photograph part of their rehearsal. U cannot wait to see the whole thing. It’s soooo good!!!
