Let me set the scene: it was HOT.⁠

Like, sweating-after-standing-outside-for-five-minutes hot. And these two spent an hour and a half wandering around Finley Farms with me in full wedding attire like absolute troopers. 😂⁠

Honestly, we didn't even take many breaks because I think we all agreed our best strategy was to just keep moving and get these two back into the air conditioning as quickly as possible. 😅⁠

But they handled it like champs, looked ridiculously good despite the heat, and we made some really pretty photos along the way.⁠

You'd never know from looking at these that we were all absolutely melting. 😂🤍⁠

Sometimes the best thing I can do is stop trying so hard. 😂⁠

I spent entirely too long arranging these details, moving flowers around, trying different combinations, moving them again...you know, doing photographer things.⁠
⁠
And technically? It was pretty.⁠
⁠
But this bride had chosen such a simple, understated feel for her wedding day - and eventually I realized the more styled version just didn't feel quite as true to her.⁠

So I took almost everything away.⁠
⁠
And immediately liked it better. 🤍⁠
⁠
I love pretty detail photos, but more than that, I want the way I photograph your details to actually reflect the wedding you created. Sometimes that means flowers and layers and lots of styling.⁠

And sometimes it means knowing when to leave well enough alone. 😅

Engagement sessions don’t have to mean a field at sunset. 🤍

Give me a downtown hotel, city streets, a little winter light, and an excuse to dress up a bit and I’m VERY happy.

Your engagement session can feel cozy, editorial, casual, romantic - or a little bit of all of it. The best location isn’t necessarily the prettiest one on Pinterest. It’s the one that fits the two of you and the kind of photos you actually want hanging on your walls.

So, consider this your permission to do something a little different for yours. ✨

Come create a wedding timeline with me. 🤍

Which apparently begins with realizing just how filthy your computer screen is the second you decide to film yourself working. 😅

Timeline planning is one of my favorite parts of the wedding process because this is where so much of the feel of the wedding day gets decided.

I’m looking at what photos matter most to my couple, how much time we’ll realistically need, where we can build in buffer, when the light will be best - and most importantly, how we can make everything happen without making the entire day feel like one giant photoshoot.

I may lovingly accept my title as Timeline Queen 👑😂, but the goal isn’t to have every minute of your wedding day perfectly scheduled.

The goal is to plan it well enough that you don’t have to think about the timeline at all.

The ceremony is over. The nerves are gone. You're officially married. And for a few minutes, it feels like the two of you are living in your own little world before heading off to celebrate with everyone you love.⁠
