For well over a decade and a half, I’ve spent most of my weekends in this quaint, tucked-away little beach village …photographing hundreds of weddings and families. Literally hundreds.
And yet…
Every single time I pull in and start walking those cobblestone streets, watch sunsets along the Gulf, standing in the Town Hall capturing couples say “I do”…my heart softens and smiles.
Many photographers can see wedding days simply as their assignment. To show up, shoot, go home, edit endlessly, deliver, repeat. Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about the difference between assignment and calling.
My assignment in this season of life may consist of utilizing my talent with a camera, capturing beautiful scenery and telling love stories through still frames…however my calling is loving and serving my couples and families well. The real gift has been those relationships built. The couples who come back year after year, letting me capture their growing families in the very place they promised forever. The families who trust me with their most honest, beautiful and even sometimes chaotic moments! The stories I’ve been handed to handle with care, watched grandparents slow dance with grandbabies, siblings roast each other in toasts while pretending they’re not crying and parents sharing proud, tearful glances while holding hands as their daughter is pronounced “Mrs!”
Grateful doesn’t even cover it🤍
To the families and couples trusting me with their stories…the honor and gratitude is truly mine🤍 Excited to be back in Rosemary for not one, but two weddings this weekend🥂✨
