One of the reasons people hold onto an outdated headshot is that they are afraid a new one will make them look older.
I understand that more than you might think.
But the answer is not to keep using a photograph that no longer looks like you. The answer is good lighting, flattering posing, thoughtful styling and retouching that still allows you to look like yourself.
You do not need to look younger than you are. You can look polished, confident and even more stylish than you did several years ago.

What you wear says something about you

Whether we consciously think about it or not, what we wear makes a statement.

One of my favorite parts of photographing returning clients is seeing how their personal style develops along with their confidence. Someone who once chose very safe clothing may arrive a few years later in a beautiful print, a stronger color or something that simply feels more like her.
It is not about dressing louder. It is about becoming more certain of how you want to present yourself.

That kind of growth deserves to be photographed.

It builds trust before you ever meet.
�A headshot tells people who you are.
A branding session tells people why they should work with you.

The goal is to create a library of images that can be used across your website, social media, speaking engagements, marketing materials, and publications.

When done thoughtfully, branding photography becomes one of the most valuable marketing assets you own.

A few images from a visit to Alnoba last April with our Connect & Collaborate group from the Portsmouth Chamber.
I never got around to sharing these, but they stayed with me.
Alnoba has such a distinct feeling to it. Art, nature, open space, and a quiet sense of discovery. It’s the kind of place that makes you slow down, look a little closer, and take in the people and the landscape around you.
I always appreciate when networking happens somewhere unexpected. It changes the energy of the conversation and makes connection feel a little more natural.
A beautiful morning with a thoughtful group of people in a truly memorable place.

Why Posing Matters

Most people aren't naturally comfortable in front of a camera.
That's completely normal.

Posing isn't about looking stiff.
It's about looking confident and natural.
Small adjustments create big differences.
That's where experience matters.
One of my favorite parts of the process is helping people look like the best version of themselves.
Most clients arrive saying some version of:�
"I don't photograph well."
The truth is that very few people know how to position themselves for a photograph.
That's my job.
