This coming weekend will feature the Rocklin Fine Arts
17th Annual MEMBERSHIP SHOW and ART SALE,
ART SHOW and MARKETPLACE OCT 19 & 20 from Noon till 5
ARTIST RECEPTION , PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS and
RAFFLE DRAWINGS OCT 20 4:30 PM (be there by 4:00 to get your raffle tickets and vote for Peoples Choice).
I'll be there for the reception from 3 till 5.

New Location is Springview Hall, Johnson Springview Park
5480 5th Street, Rocklin, CA 95677.

There will be a lot of amazing art, finger foods, wine and artists to talk with. You'd be a welcome addition!!

I finally caught C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) last night, Shot was captured at one of my secret locations, (Denny's parking lot, Newcastle) I had to use a 70mm lens to get the whole tail and some foreground in the image. (f2.8, 6 sec exp, 800 ISO, for those keeping score at home 😆). The second image was shot with 200mm. Which image do you like better?

I just entered these two images in The Art League of Lincoln MOVE show. They will be on exhibit at the Art Center at 580 Sixth Street, Lincoln, CA, 95648 from September 5th through October 27, 2024, Thur through Sunday, from 11-3pm.

Here's one of my favorite shots from a few years ago. Turns out, Jon was a transient, and was sleeping under this locomotive. Luckily, he was willing to pose for a few shots. I got the photo printed and went back to the site, but alas, he was gone. Good luck my friend, wherever you are!

Well, Big Boy left Roseville this morning. I tried to chase it up the hill, but he struck an object on the tracks in Auburn and was delayed while they attempted repairs, (rumor has it that it was a tree). He was delayed for over an hour, so it was rerouted and even skipped the Colfax stop. Bottom line, my shot plans also went up in smoke. Luckily, I have friends that got some great shots, (I'm looking at you Nichole).

A few pics of Big Boy coming through Feather River Canyon on Thursday. My best laid plans all went asunder due to the huge crowds and traffic, but it was a fun adventure anyway. Woo-hoo!😄You can view the Big Boy up close and personal in Roseville today and tomorrow. UP really went all out for this exhibition!! Now we get ready for the Eastbound leg on Sunday!!
