Should you make time for cocktail hour after your ceremony?

Well, I’m glad you asked! For an interactive gallery it is important to join your guests as much as possible. This kind of piggy backs off of my post on Monday. Whether you’re an introvert or extrovert this time is perfect to mingle with your family and friends. You have the option to hide in a corner with your fab five or catch up with everyone from near or far. It’s your day, take your time to enjoy it!

This also depends on time of year. For example getting parried in fall with cocktail hour around 4-5pm it may make more sense to get some portraits done because the sun sets just that much faster. During summer sunset is around 8pm so your portraits can be later in the evening. I’m not sure if this makes sense but at this point I am rambling. Thank you for coming to my ted talk. When planning your timeline, it can get a bit overwhelming.

When do you prioritize family photos? Couples portraits? Friends? These are normal worries. A way to make sure you have time for your guests is to do a first look. Will it take away from the feelings of walking down the aisle? No. The overwhelming gratitude and love you feel walking down the aisle will still be there.

I will always suggest a first look because it also calms your nerves being with your person before 200+ guests. If you don’t do a first look there’s always a way to make time for the things listed. Your day would just be that much smoother seeing your person first.

Your couples portraits doesn’t have to be just at golden hour!

What I’m finding my couples doing recently is adding time here and there for couples portraits during their wedding day. We’re not spending an hour at golden hour, we’re taking little moments here and there to allow them to enjoy themselves. Don’t over complicate it. Plan what works best for YOU. 🤍🦢
