One of my favorite moments from an unforgettable trip to Uganda.

This was taken during a 10 day trip to Africa with an Army friend. We were visiting some friends we made in Iraq—Ugandan soldiers we played soccer with during our limited downtime.

We told them we’d come visit someday after we left the military. We kept our promise in 2015.

It was an experience of a lifetime.

Sometimes we spent hours with the neighborhood kids, mostly playing soccer, hanging out around the house, and waiting for the sun to fall.

Years later, this is still one of those photographs that instantly takes me back.

There’s something fun about photographing the transition from regular day to wedding day.

The guys hanging out, getting ready, talking s**t, fixing ties, and realizing, “Oh snap, we’re actually doing this.”

Those getting ready photos are a big part of the story, and some of my favorite photos to capture.
