I’ve photographed more than 100 weddings, one thing has become incredibly clear to me over the last few years
The moments couples treasure most are rarely the ones anyone planned.
They’re the deep breath before walking down the aisle.
Your grandmother pulling you into one more hug.
The quiet glance across the room that reminds you both , HEY we actually did it.
Somewhere along the way, weddings became something to perform and not necessarily because anyone intended them to but because today’s couples are carrying more expectations than ever before.
Be present.
Stay on schedule.
Get every photo.
Create content.
Make it beautiful.
Don’t miss a moment.
And often all of these, at once.
I’ll always believe beautiful photography matters AND believe something else matters even more.
You deserve to experience your wedding, not perform it.
That doesn’t mean skipping the details.
Or giving up beautiful portraits.
Or not documenting the day.
It means creating enough space to laugh a little longer.
To hug your people a little tighter.
To forget the camera is there because you’re completely immersed in the people and place in front of you.
Ironically, that’s when the photographs become the most iconic, timeless and treasured.
At LoHi, my goal has never been to direct every moment but to protect the experience that makes those moments worth remembering.
