Last weekend, we had the privilege of serving as both the photographer and videographer for this beautiful wedding—an experience we truly enjoyed. But what made it even more special was working with this amazing couple.

As part of my ongoing series highlighting individual photographs and the stories behind them, I wanted to share this image of my gray tiger cat, Rudy.

Like most cats, Rudy has plenty of energy and personality. For this photograph, I wanted to experiment with capturing that playful spirit while also freezing a split second in time that would normally be missed by the human eye.

One of the things I love most about photography is its ability to stop time. Whether it's a person, an animal, or a fleeting moment, photography allows us to preserve expressions, movements, and emotions that might otherwise disappear in an instant.

Creating this image required patience, timing, and a little cooperation from Rudy. The goal wasn't just to photograph my cat—it was to capture a glimpse of his playful personality and turn it into a lasting image.

Sometimes the best photography projects happen right at home.

So, I did a thing yesterday. I posed as both Videographer and Photographer, which is something I don't try to do, but with this couple, it was a must. And I could not have done it without my second shooter & former Delta College student of mine, Emma Blakley. And I figured I would share some of them. And having Sydney and Zac as our amazing couple. Tonight, I heard a rumor—one that I've actually heard a few times over the past several months—that I no longer do wedding videography.

To be honest, I'm not sure where that came from, because I've never said that, and it's simply not true.

I absolutely love weddings.

This year hasn't been my busiest wedding season. I currently have six weddings booked, whereas my average has typically been 20–25 weddings per year. Over the year, I have put more focus on corporate photography, videography, and marketing projects. During economic slowdowns, many businesses invest more heavily in marketing, and that side of my business has continued since 2004. However, focusing more on corporate work has never meant walking away from weddings.

Weddings have always held a special place in my heart. Every couple, every story, every celebration has been an honor to document. If you're one of my past couples, please know that I still remember your wedding day and cherish the opportunity I had to be a small part of it.

So if you've heard this rumor as well, I'd genuinely appreciate hearing where it's coming from. Not because I'm upset, but because I'd like the opportunity to set the record straight.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support me, refer me, and trust me with life's biggest moments. I truly hope to continue documenting weddings and love stories for many years to come.

When most people think about manufacturing, they often focus on the finished product. What they don't always see are the skilled professionals whose knowledge, precision, and dedication make it all possible.

This photograph features a welder at Keel, captured in the environment where she works every day. I wanted to create an image that not only showcased her role within the company but also highlighted the craftsmanship and pride that go into the manufacturing process.

The contrast of light, metal, and environment helped create an image that reflects both the strength and precision required in her profession. For me, industrial portraits are most successful when they capture not only what someone does, but who they are.

I especially enjoy creating portraits like this because they tell a story beyond the machinery and equipment. They put a face to the work and remind us that manufacturing is driven by talented individuals who help build, create, and innovate.

Women continue to play an important role throughout the manufacturing and skilled trades industries, bringing expertise, leadership, and innovation to the workplace every day. It was an honor to help tell a small part of that story through this photograph.

As part of my ongoing series highlighting individual photographs and the stories behind them, I wanted to share this image featuring the beautiful Austeen.

One of the things I enjoy most about photography is collaborating on creative concepts. For this session, Austeen had a vision of creating something soft, dreamy, and ethereal. We headed out to a field and focused on capturing images that felt less like traditional portraits and more like something out of a storybook.

What makes this image special to me is not only the concept itself, but the editing process that followed. I intentionally approached the color grading and overall look differently than my usual style to better match the mood and feeling we wanted to create. Sometimes a photograph calls for bold colors and contrast, while other times it benefits from softer tones and a more artistic approach.

Photography is more than just taking pictures—it's about creating images that fit the vision, story, and emotion of the project.

One of the reasons I love what I do is the flexibility to adapt my creative style to help bring someone's ideas to life.

One of my favorite things about senior photography is creating images that reflect who a student is and what they're passionate about. For this senior, that passion was volleyball.

Rather than choosing a traditional portrait location, we created this image inside her school's gymnasium—the place where she spent countless hours practicing, competing, and making memories with her teammates.

By incorporating the volleyball court into the portrait, the image becomes more than just a senior photo. It tells part of her story and captures an important chapter of her life before graduation.
