Behind every thriving greenhouse operation are people whose passion, hard work, and vision help turn challenges into opportunities.

In a continuing series called From The Ground Up for my client, Prospiant , we visit Hoffie Nursery, Inc. in Union, Illinois, where Allyson Hoffmeyer shares the story of their family business, their commitment to quality, and the role their new greenhouse addition plays in supporting continued growth.

Greenhouse growers continue to shape the future of horticulture, and we're proud to help share their stories.

Watch the full interview and discover how Hoffie Nursery is cultivating success from the ground up.

One of my favorite things about senior photography is creating images that reflect who a student is and what they're passionate about. For this senior, that passion was volleyball.

Rather than choosing a traditional portrait location, we created this image inside her school's gymnasium—the place where she spent countless hours practicing, competing, and making memories with her teammates.

By incorporating the volleyball court into the portrait, the image becomes more than just a senior photo. It tells part of her story and captures an important chapter of her life before graduation.

The best senior portraits aren't just about how you look—they're about who you are.

And yes, senior portrait season is here! Now is the perfect time to book your session and create images that showcase your personality, interests, and accomplishments.

📸 Let's create something that's uniquely you.

As part of my ongoing series highlighting individual photographs and the stories behind them, I wanted to share this aerial image of Tap In's at the Greenhouse in Overland Park, Kansas for Prospiant

This unique destination combines the beauty of a greenhouse environment with the fun of an indoor putt-putt golf course, creating an experience unlike anything I've encountered before. Capturing it from the air provided a perspective that showcased both the scale and design of the facility in a way that isn't possible from ground level.

One thing many people don't realize is that commercial drone photography involves more than simply owning a drone. As an FAA Part 107 Certified Remote Pilot, I am licensed to legally capture aerial photography and video for commercial purposes. This certification demonstrates knowledge of airspace regulations, safety procedures, and operational requirements necessary for commercial drone work.

Whether I'm photographing greenhouses, manufacturing facilities, construction projects, commercial properties, or unique destinations like this one, aerial imagery can help tell a story from an entirely different perspective.

And yes—I offer professional drone photography and video services as part of my commercial and industrial content offerings.

As part of my ongoing series highlighting individual photographs and the stories behind them, I wanted to share this portrait created at Keel.

When people think about manufacturing, they often think about machinery, production lines, and finished products. What is sometimes overlooked are the talented individuals who help maintain the quality and standards behind everything that leaves the facility.

This image features one of Keel's quality managers. I wanted to create a portrait that felt professional while also reflecting the manufacturing environment where she works every day.

I also appreciate opportunities like this to highlight the important role women play throughout the manufacturing industry. From quality control and engineering to leadership and operations, women continue to make significant contributions that help drive innovation and excellence across the industry.

Manufacturing isn't just about what gets made—it's about the people who make it possible.

And yes—I offer manufacturing and industrial photography for companies looking to showcase their people, processes, and facilities through authentic visual storytelling.

This Pride Month, we celebrate the diversity, creativity, and individuality that make our communities stronger.

We believe everyone deserves to be seen, valued, respected, and empowered to be their authentic selves. Pride is a time to recognize the progress that has been made, acknowledge the work that remains, and support a world where everyone belongs.

To our LGBTQ+ friends, family members, clients, colleagues, and community members—we see you, we support you, and we celebrate you.

Happy Pride Month.

Product photography is about more than simply photographing an item—it's about creating an image that helps the product stand out.

As part of my ongoing series highlighting individual photographs and the stories behind them, I wanted to share this image I created for Blue Thumb featuring their Pond Clear product line.

To create this look, I used a combination of colored lighting and reflective materials beneath the bottles to add depth, dimension, and visual interest. Every lighting choice was intentional, helping to emphasize the product while creating a clean, eye-catching image that draws attention.

Whether it's a product sitting on a store shelf, featured in a catalog, or used in advertising, strong photography helps tell the story of the brand and the product itself.

And yes—I do product photography too. From small products to commercial campaigns, professional imagery can make a big difference in how your products are perceived.

If you're looking for photography that helps your products stand out, I'd love to help.

This photo was created with one light, one piano, and one talented senior.

As part of my ongoing series highlighting individual photographs and the stories behind them, I wanted to share this image from a senior portrait session.

This senior had a passion for playing the piano, so I wanted to create something that reflected both her personality and her love of music. Rather than using a traditional portrait location, we created this image inside a gymnasium using just a single off-camera flash.

What I love most about this photograph is the contrast between the light and the darkness surrounding it. The dramatic lighting helps draw your attention directly to the subject and the piano, creating a mood that feels both powerful and timeless.

Sometimes the most memorable images come from finding creative ways to tell a person's story.

And yes—I photograph high school seniors too! Senior portrait season is approaching, and now is the perfect time to reserve your session before the calendar fills up.

Let's create something unique that reflects who you are and what you're passionate about.

As part of my new series highlighting individual photographs and the stories behind them, I wanted to share this image from the USDA Forestry Division facility in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

In this photo, a team member is working among thousands of young pine trees that are being grown to help replenish areas of forest affected by logging, wildfires, and other forms of deforestation. The goal is to help restore the natural balance of our national forests and ensure these ecosystems continue to thrive for future generations.

What struck me most during my visit was the scale of the operation and the dedication of the people working behind the scenes. Every seedling represents a small step toward restoring forests across the region.

The facility utilizes greenhouses built by Prospiant , providing a controlled environment where these young trees can develop before being transplanted into the wild.

Photography allows us to capture more than a moment—it helps tell the stories of the people and places making a difference every day.

I am starting a brand-new series of posts that focus on a particular photo or design that I have created and the story behind it.

This photo was taken at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Richmond, Virginia. It was captured from their rose garden at the bottom of a hill, looking up toward the dome structure built by Prospiant .

As I was composing the image, I used the roses in the foreground as a natural frame for the dome, helping draw the viewer's eye toward the structure while adding color, depth, and context to the scene.

Sometimes it's not just about documenting a location—it's about finding a unique perspective that helps tell the story of the space.
