What an amazing thing for our communities and its children 🤍
KANAWHA COUNTY!!! I need y’all to help me with this one. 🥹🛏️💛
I recently learned about a mission happening RIGHT HERE in our community and the second I heard what they do, I knew I wanted to help get as many eyes on it as possible. Because their mission is one sentence that absolutely stopped me in my tracks:
NO KID SLEEPS ON THE FLOOR IN OUR TOWN.
Read that again. 😭
Sleep in Heavenly Peace - WV, Kanawha Co is a local chapter of a nonprofit that builds and delivers REAL BEDS to children who don’t have one. Not just the bed frame. They provide the handmade twin bed, mattress, bedding AND pillow so that a child who may have been sleeping on a floor, couch, air mattress or somewhere else they shouldn’t have to sleep can finally crawl into a bed of their very own. 🥹
And y’all know how I am.. once I learn about something like this happening in my own backyard, I can’t just scroll past it. So I’m asking my little corner of the internet to SHOW UP. 💛
SEPTEMBER 12TH-BUNKS ACROSS AMERICA BUILD! 🔨
Location- Lowe’s at Southridge/Corridor G
Time- 12 PM - 3 PM
21 volunteer spots are still available!
The 9 AM - 12 PM shift is already FULL, which makes my heart so happy. But we still need some amazing humans for the afternoon shift!
And listen you do NOT have to be Bob the Builder. 😂You just have to be willing to show up and help.
There will also be FOOD TRUCKS there, and even if you can’t stay and build, you can stop by and donate NEW twin size bedding or pillows!
Maybe you can volunteer. Maybe you can donate a set of twin sheets. Maybe your church, workplace or organization wants to get involved. Maybe you know a quilter who would LOVE to donate a handmade quilt. Maybe all you can do right now is hit the share button.
Every single one of those things matters!!!
Because somewhere here in Kanawha County is a kiddo who deserves to climb into a warm, cozy bed tonight, and doesn’t have one. I think we can help change that. 🥹💛
West Virginia has shown me time and time again what happens when good humans come together for a good reason. Let’s fill those last 21 volunteer spots. Let’s fill their bedding shelves. And most importantly let’s help make sure NO KID SLEEPS ON THE FLOOR IN OUR TOWN!!
Even if you can’t volunteer or donate, your share might reach the person who can.
And TAG your churches, businesses, organizations, coworkers, friends, quilters, handy husbands, handy wives, literally ANYBODY who might want to spend a few hours doing something really dang good for kids in our community. 🥹🔨💛
