Every cowboy has to start somewhere… and this little one is starting right here—boots not required just yet.

There’s something so sweet about incorporating pieces of a family’s story into a newborn session. The saddle, the western details, those tiny hands tucked beneath his sleepy little face—it’s a photograph that feels like him before he’s even big enough to know it.

One day, those little legs may be running through pastures and those tiny hands may be holding the reins. But today, he’s just a sleepy little cowboy dreaming in the saddle.

Little cowboy. Big adventures ahead. 🤎

Surrogate pregnancy is such a unique kind of love. 🤍

You can love the baby growing inside of you, care deeply about every kick, every appointment, every milestone… and still know with complete certainty that this baby was never meant to be yours.

That’s one of the things I wish more people understood about surrogacy.

The attachment is different — but the responsibility is enormous.

For nine months, you’re trusted with someone else’s most precious dream. You change your routines. You go to the appointments. You take the medications. You worry about the little things. You celebrate the good scans and hold your breath through the scary moments.

And eventually, you walk into a birth room knowing that one of the biggest moments of someone else’s life is about to happen through your body.

Then comes my favorite part.

Watching parents meet their baby.

Watching the person you carried for months finally be placed into the arms they were always meant for.

There is something incredibly powerful about being able to say, “I helped you get here.”

I’ve had the privilege of being a surrogate twice, and those journeys changed so much about the way I view pregnancy, birth, infertility, IVF, parenthood, and the incredible trust that exists between a surrogate and intended parents.

Surrogacy isn’t “giving a baby away.”

It’s carrying a baby with the intention of giving them back to the people who have been waiting for them all along.

And there is so much beauty in that.
