Meet Wally! He is a repeat return at Miri's Haven Senior Dog Rescue. He is currently fostered in Rockville, MD.
This dog has been through too much for the heart to bear.
In mid October the shelter reached out to Miri's Haven to ask them to take in this sweet boy, and right as they arrived to pick him up his owner showed up to reclaim him. Happy story, right? Wrong!
Wally showed up as a stray AGAIN a few days ago at the same shelter, and in only two weeks his condition had deteriorated significantly. Miri's Haven jumped at the chance to welcome him a second time, and he is currently safe in their care where this will never happen to him again.
Wally is a 23lb, 10 year old (at least) intact male from rural Virginia. He is gentle and funny and a real couch potato.
Wally does seem to be hard of hearing or deaf (but with a gentle touch, he doesn't get startled easily) and he can partially see. The idea that the other sense are heightened when we lose 1 seems to be true with this senior pup. Wallyโs sniffer seems to be a premium snoot. # 1 investigation skills in that snoot!
