Our lives are changed in the BEST way because of our sweet little Scottie girl 💞 I wanted to share small little glimpses into how we met our special and perfect girl!
We went into my 38-week appointment expecting a normal checkup… but deep down I knew she was going to be ready to come early! At the appointment we learned that my blood pressure was dangerously high, and labs showed that I had severe preeclampsia. I honestly would’ve had no idea. I had no headache, changes in my vision, nothing that would’ve indicated something was remotely off. Within minutes we were told to head to labor & delivery and I was so nervous because she has measured so small throughout my entire pregnancy that I wanted her to grow as much as she could!
What followed was a long induction and my body was exhausted but I was so so ready to meet our baby girl. Early the next morning, things progressed so quickly and with a room full of nurses calling for the doctor to hurry, I pushed for 23 minutes and she was here. So tiny but so so strong! The second her dad said, “Hey little girl,” she stopped crying and looked right at him. When they placed her on my chest, she calmed instantly. She instantly knew me too. 🤍
We spent more days than we expected to in the hospital and spent the week at home trying to get the right medication for my blood pressure to stabilize. We were grateful to have met some incredible nurses, and despite the unexpected start, it was the sweetest blur of gratitude, relief, and love.
Scottie Jo is such a good baby and is almost already a whole month old 🥲 she loves to eat, so big stretches, fall asleep with her hands in what we call “her touch down pose”, gets hangry like he mama, HATES bath time, and has the most ticklish little back. We are so smitten over everything about her and we are don’t know how we got so lucky to be her parents!
