Somewhere along the way, Sundays became another day to catch up.

Catch up on work.

Catch up on emails.

Catch up on everything.

But that’s not why I started this new chapter.

I didn’t start a business to work my life away.

Today, work can wait.

I’m sitting with the horses, listening to them eat, listening to the cicadas, and remembering what Sundays are supposed to feel like.

I had an amazing day… just like a Sunday is supposed to be.

Tomorrow will still be there. ❤️

It’s funny how one simple sentence can stay with you.

“Unfocus, Becky.”

I haven’t been able to stop thinking about those two words.

Maybe this little story will make you pause for a moment too.

If you gave yourself permission to unfocus…

What might become possible?

I’d love to hear your thoughts.

For years, I thought I had too many different interests.

Healing.
Photography.
Art.
The creek.
Old objects.
Appalachia.

It turns out they were never separate.

I finally wrote about the thread that has been connecting all of them.

If you’ve ever wondered why I do what I do, this is probably the most personal thing I’ve written.

I spend my days doing intuitive energy work for people and animals, working remotely with clients all over the country from the hills of West Virginia.

What I love most about this work is that it brings people into my life that I might never have met otherwise. I never get tired of witnessing what happens when things begin to make more sense, when something that once felt heavy begins to feel lighter, and when someone begins to uncover more of who they have always been.

This is also where you’ll find me.

Horses. Appalachia. Quiet moments. Deep conversations, even the ones that don’t use words. Paying attention to the overlooked things that make an ordinary life extraordinary.

These are some of the things that make me who I am. And they are also the things that shape my work. ♡

Let’s talk about what makes me happy.

I just found out there’s an ancient ocean beneath the Appalachian Mountains and, somehow, I made it all the way through history class without learning that.

So naturally, down the rabbit hole I went.

Then I discovered that about an hour and a half from my little corner of West Virginia, a family has been harvesting salt from the remnants of that ancient sea since 1817. More than 200 years later, their descendants are still doing it today.

Of course I had to have some.

I bought the grinder because I plan on enjoying every bit of it. The bag of salt is headed to my studio for a fine art project I’ve been dreaming up.

If you’ve been here very long, you know I get excited about the stories that things carry. Shells. Stones. Trees. Creeks. Apparently, ancient oceans too.

I don’t make a penny from sharing this. I just thought it was too cool not to share. If you’re curious like I am, go check them out.

There’s something sacred about Appalachian evenings. No music, no conversation, no agenda. Just a porch, a fire, and the sound of a thousand tiny voices singing in the dark.

Sometimes, the most meaningful thing we can do is pay attention.

Tonight, I listen.

And just like that, another beautiful moment becomes a memory. The ocean has been generous this week, leaving hearts in the sand, broken shells, and quiet reminders to pay attention. It’s time to go home, carrying a little more wonder than I brought with me.

The ocean gives its gifts quietly.

A heart in the sand. A shell left behind. A reminder that beauty isn’t always found in what we seek, but in what we take the time to notice.

The ones left behind still have stories to tell.

If you know, you know.

Found this hag stone on the shore today. Some things have a way of finding you when you’re paying attention.

Sometimes the greatest compliment nature gives us… is simply not running away.

Every evening after caring for the horses, we slow down before heading home.

Tonight, a doe and her little one stood watching us from the edge of the field. After a moment, she quietly walked on while her fawn lingered a little longer.

Moments like these remind me that not everything meaningful has to be chased. Sometimes the most beautiful experiences come when we’re simply present enough to notice them.

That’s a lesson I carry into every part of my life, and into every session I do.
