It's turtle season and I am turtley loving it! There have been so many snapping and painted turtles out and about on the roads this nesting season. Always enjoy seeing them.

I went on an evening drive the other night and boy, did I get lucky seeing all sorts of wildlife! 2 bull moose, 2 deer, 3 snapping turtles, 2 painted turtles, a cross fox, a grouse, a bald eagle, and a loon. It was a glorious evening and I'll be sorting through and sharing photos all week.

Saw this beautiful Cross Fox yesterday evening. I noticed it was running back and forth across the road with something small and white in its mouth, and then it would disappear into the woods. I soon figured out that the fox was raiding a turtle nest and perhaps making runs back into the woods to feed kits or just find a secluded place for a snack. Neat experience to sit and watch for a while.

My sweet girl turned 13 today.

It's been difficult over the last year or more to watch her age. Her eyes have grown cloudy, her hearing is fading, and I can't let her roam as far away - because I'm afraid she won't be able to find her way back to me.

While her eyesight and hearing maybe slowly slipping away, she is still her spunky loving self and tries her best to keep up with her younger energetic brother, Cooper.

Here's hoping we have a few more years and lots of adventures together, Remy. ❤️

I had a cute little visitor in the backyard last night. This little yearling was the same size as Remy and was pretty content just hanging out in the tree watching me do yard work.

I've been running two new Spypoint trail cameras this winter and am loving the hybrid setting which captures photos and a video. It's been a little slower of a winter with finding where the wildlife are hanging out - but have been able to get a few neat captures of some wildlife roaming the woods!
