More mushrooms emerged from the mulch in front of our house. If you look closely, you can see small bits of wood that are still on the mushrooms. I brushed off some of the wood chips, but I was concerned that I would damage the mushrooms if I tried to remove all of the small bits of wood.
A little technical info - this was shot with the Nikon Z8 and the Nikon 105mm macro lens (1/15 sec, f/4, ISO 64). I used the Focus shift shooting feature and let the camera adjust the focus point. I used a Focus shift width of 3 and set up the camera to take 100 images. When I imported the images into Lightroom, I discovered that 50 images were enough to have the mushrooms in focus from front to back. The images (50 of them) were stacked in HeliconFocus. I did a little bit of retouching in Helicon, then reimported the image back into Lightroom for final edits.
