What I knew of Shawn before this weekend was he seemed

Quiet. Reserved. Low-key.

So imagine my surprise when he stepped in front of my camera and completely owned it.

The BMW was a pretty good introduction… but his confidence in front of the camera was the best surprise.

When you book me as your photographer, you’re not just supporting me, you’re supporting my favorite people.

We squeezed in our fam pics last month and here’s what I’ll tell you:

Being a photographer doesn’t give me a magical ability to breeze through the process. Let’s keep things real:

- I spent 4 weeks deciding on outfits and changed mine last minute.

- My kids don’t love getting their photos taken and grumbled while we were shooting.

- It was literally 100 degrees.

- my husband still has poison ivy from this field.

But what I will tell you is it was all worth it because we’ll only be like this for a small snippet of time. My kids will soon all outgrow me and high school will end, but I have photos to treasure for a lifetime.

There’s something really special about a wedding day. It’s one of the few times in your life when so many of the people you love and care about are gathered together in one place to celebrate you.

It’s a reminder of how much our presence matters.

The people who have loved you, shaped you, and helped make you who you are today. The people who, in a lot of ways, are part of the reason your partner fell in love with the person you’ve become.

This guy right here: heart of gold. I met Jake several years ago when his family started coming to our church small group. I quickly became friends with his mom, and my kids all had an Elder buddy when we’d hang out. I’m so thankful for the blessing of Jake and his family in our lives. He is passionate, faithful, and kind. His love for the Lord is evident and his joy is contagious. He’s grown up to be such an amazing young man.

We love you Jake!

There’s just something so easy to love about Ady. 🤍

She’s kind, warm, friendly, and the kind of person who makes you feel comfortable the moment you’re around her. A cheerleader, a big sister, and now a senior—which somehow feels like such a big deal.

She has this sweet, joyful way about her, and I have no doubt that the people who know her best are going to miss having her around every day.

Feeling a little deeper for this family as their first kid enters his senior year.

These are people I have the privilege of doing life with, and it feels extra special to get to document this season for them. Watching their family grow, seeing these kids grow up, and now realizing their oldest is a SENIOR… how did we get here?!

And what an amazing young man he is.

So thankful for the friendship we share and for the opportunity to freeze a little piece of this season for a family I love. 🤍
