Ending my Vermont trip with a Long Trail Ale photo as per my normal modus operandi. Taken with the Sony A7IV with Sigma 50mm f/1.2 DG DN | Art and set to ISO 640, f/8, and an HDR Merge of 1/4000, 1/500, & 1/60 sec shutter. Editing done in Adobe Lightroom Classic. Taken at Kent Pond in Killington, Vermont.

A little film versus digital comparison, combined with beginner vs experienced comparison. Basically the film photo was at the beginning of my photography journey taken in June 2008. The digital was taken this last week now in 2025. I aimed to replicate some of the restrictions of the film, which was Kodak 100 TMAX. I do not know what aperture or shutter I shot the film at due to many years and no written record. The digital I shot at ISO 100 and at F1.4 aperture and 1/250 sec shutter. This was the exact same location and same time of year, so the digital settings could very well be closer to what I captured the film at. The difference in lenses should also be noted. Film was shot with Minolta Rokkor 58mm f/1.4 on the Minolta SRT-102, while the digital was shot on the Sigma 50mm f/1.2 DG DN Art on the Sony A7IV. I thought this may be fun for everyone to compare and see the journey from film to digital over the decades with a timeless location.

URSA Cine 12K Still Capture from yesterday. Captured before the rain came and created the video I shared yesterday. DZOFilm Vespid 25mm. Image was exported in LOG TIFF format for import into Lightroom for editing to compare to regular workflow with other still cameras. The image is impeccable.
