Genetics are a fascinating thing. We inherit so much of who we are a blend of features, subtle mannerisms, and spoken cadences, sometimes learned and sometimes carried deep in our DNA. Every so often, a trait surfaces that feels like a rare signature.
The older I get, the more my family shows up in the mirror. I see my mom in my hands. I see my dad in my dark hair and the shape of my nose. In old photographs, whole generations echo through my grandparents and my daughter looks like the twin of a woman who lived over a century ago.
A quiet legacy written right into who we are.
