Eight Years of Love, Memories and a Beautiful Beginning

Eight years ago, I had the incredible honor of photographing the wedding of my niece, Ashley. Being both a family member and her wedding photographer made the day even more meaningful, and it is wonderful to look back at the images that continue to preserve those special moments.

Stars, Stripes & Dance Floors: Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday at Bayou Dance Club

What better way to celebrate America’s 250th birthday than with music, dancing, great friends, and a slice of apple pie?

St Jean Creative Photography was thrilled to photograph the July 4th 250th Birthday Celebration at Bayou Dance Club in Pinellas Park, Florida. The evening brought together students, dancers, friends, and members of the Bayou Dance Club community for a patriotic celebration filled with energy, laughter, and plenty of movement on the dance floor.

The celebration featured a lively dance party, giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy the music and spend the evening doing what Bayou Dance Club does best—dancing!

Throughout the event, several students also took to the floor for individual performances, showcasing their hard work, personality, and love of dance. From carefully rehearsed routines to the excitement of performing in front of friends and fellow dancers, each performance added something special to the evening.

As a photographer—and as someone with an extensive professional dance background—I always enjoy photographing dancers. There is something unique about capturing movement, expression, timing, connection, and the individual personality of each performer. These are the moments that make dance event photography so exciting.

The evening ended in true American style with apple pie, followed by a fun and energetic dance demonstration from the Saturday morning La Blast class. It was the perfect finale to a night celebrating community, dance, friendship, and 250 years of America.

A huge thank-you to Bayou Dance Club in Pinellas Park for once again allowing St Jean Creative Photography to be part of such a memorable event. We always enjoy photographing this wonderful dance community and documenting the performances, celebrations, and moments that bring everyone together.

Happy 250th Birthday, America!

From the dance floor to the final slice of apple pie, this was a July 4th celebration worth remembering.
