I have a very real passion for telling life's stories and documenting them as authentically as they take place. g both medium format film and digital media, because I've recently come to find that life doesn't fit into one or the other. There is something in a film image that captures the depth of a moment, and there is a lot about digital media that allows me to capture it's spontaneity. When your wedding day has come and gone, and your babies are grown, you will hold a beautiful collection of carefully, hand-edited images that tell your story in the most organic way. My style is a reflection of the way I approach my life. It is simple, genuine, evolving and moving, but always, always true to the story I have the chance to define. A go-getter, self-proclaimed type A meets a midwestern boy who is master of the gritty. They have an epic wedding with tons of friends between the two of them and the kind of beachy breeze and sunshine one can only hope for on a mid-May, Saint Simons day.

I have gotten to know these two over the course of a year and am better off for it — I’ve smiled so much learning more about who these people are individually and what their relationship style is like. Running up and down a beach at sunrise despite not being morning people, cracking jokes and searching for seashells for me to bring back to my son (Ivey found the perfect one 🐚)

Grateful in every sense of the word to have served these people and have been let in on helping to tell the story of this chapter of life.

Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Boddy. May you dance the gritty through every blessing this marriage brings you 🕺🏻

A project is in the works with the ever-talented . So, naturally my mind becomes entranced once more in her wedding — a flurry of vibrant details + dahlias of every shade — a myriad of colors and the most thoughtful of elements (even down to the handcrafted plates from talented friend ) that can only be so effortlessly composed by the eye of an artist.⁠

Sprinkle in a sense of humor (a good laugh was had by Mary and her dad the moment it was accidentally tugged off her head during the procession + a dance party with the Chick-fil-A cow)…

Think about the things you’ll look back and be so thankful to remember. It’ll be the big things, of course — your high school graduation, the birth of your kiddos, the vacations, your wedding.
⁠
What you won’t be able to recall are the nights waking up to a baby who can’t settle in — that needs a feed and the soft touch of your cheek to theirs — and how their body presses into yours as they drift off. It will be the days you simply can’t recall because of their ordinariness. To you, right now, “just another day”. How they looked when they were in their high chair for a meal with food smashed carelessly all over their face (/belly/back/hair). How fast they could make a lap now around the downstairs after years and years of practice.⁠

For me, it’s Ayla repeating He-Man’s “I have the powaaa!” mantra, or adding “peppenmoni” to our “soup” this morning. And Shep’s epic popstar face when he belts out the chorus (there’s really only a chorus) of his new “hit single”: “Together through the skies”.⁠
⁠
It won’t make much sense to anyone else. But to you, those moments are a legacy built from pure, unobstructed, unending and unconditional, beautiful love.

They opted for a wedding with a backyard feel — the day was sun-kissed and only the most cherished family and closest of friends made up the guest list. It was introspective and emotional and Claire + Casey managed to bring into focus the elements of what a wedding celebrates in the first place: life, love, and the moments that matter most.

I’ve known Claire since she was a pr***en. She’s always had an eye for photography and over the years we’ve reconnected time and again to talk shop and work together. She’s seen the behind-the-scenes and knows what goes into a wedding day. So the moment she asked me to walk this journey with them, my heart was all in.

Being a part of these moments was a gift I’ll always be grateful for. Congrats to the Graveses 🥂 celebrating you was so effortless! 🤍
