I waited around 8 hours to photograph this willow flycatcher sitting on her eggs. Between the wind blowing greenery completely blocking the nest, and her leaving periodically to catch bugs, it served quite the challenge. But, days like this are true reminders of why I love doing this. I spotted this nest originally while watching orchard orioles, because I kept seeing the female flycatcher come back and forth while building the nest! I tried then to photograph her crafting, but still had no luck. I HAD to go back today to see the progress she made and I was delighted to notice her sitting in there most of the day, so it's safe to assume we will have babies soon!
