Unicorns make studio appointments.

A miniature horse, a golden horn, and that magnificent mane. Some days I really do need someone to pinch me.

Look what I got to photograph.

You put your foot bone to your brain bone and you shake it all about. You do the hokey…

Actually, just scratch wherever it itches. It’s Friday.

The big brothers have a new baby brother.

Their mission, should they choose to accept it:
1. Cook him for dinner.
2. Teach him all the best good-boy tricks.
3. Pose for their first family portrait.

We went with option three. The cauldron probably made that less clear.

Heads up! Only four sessions left in Transylvania—and these two heard every word.

Sessions take place in our NE Salem studio and include up to two pets, a double-sided acrylic keychain, and two matching digital files.

Meet Honeydew.

At just four months old, Honeydew entered an overcrowded California shelter with a broken femur, believed to have been caused by a car. She was placed on the euthanasia list—but 4 All Muttkind’s founder was determined that this sweet puppy would have a different ending.

Honeydew made the journey to Oregon with her broken leg and was welcomed by an extraordinary foster who saw her through two surgeries, weeks of crate rest, physical therapy and swim therapy. Today, Honeydew runs, plays and zooms through life pain-free in her forever home.

For her Colors of the Valley portrait, Honeydew joined us among the peonies at Adelman Peony Gardens. The flowers were extravagant. Honeydew held her own.

Honeydew is featured in the 2027 Colors of the Valley calendar, a love letter to the working landscape of the Willamette Valley. Calendars are available through , with every purchase helping provide care for dogs in rescue.

Saturday nights are best spent with a friend. Hondo is looking for one to spend all his Saturdays with.

He’s the big guy. Roxy, his foster sister, is keeping him company until someone swipes right.

Know someone who could use a little Hondo in their life? Contact Farm's Pet Services to meet him.

“Just checking. The recipe DOES say ‘a little dog hair,’ right?”

Hondo and Roxy stopped by Transylvania to help brew up a little magic. This big puppy has such a gentle soul—and we’re hoping his next adventure comes with a family of his own.

Roxy has her people. Hondo is still looking for his.

Interested in meeting him? Contact his foster mom, Cassie, at Farms Pet Services. And please share—let’s help this boy conjure up a home.

When we remodeled the studio, we decided it was time to give the antique settee a makeover, too. We dropped off a dingy antique at Cherry Hill Upholstery and picked up this beauty.

Sverre, the shop dog, was not included. I checked.

A big shout-out to Cherry Hill Upholstery for giving this old piece a beautiful new life. Rumor has it that it will be making its first cameo appearance in holiday photos.
