Last night was beastly hot, so we moved the entire squad into the air-conditioned studio.

It took approximately 14 seconds for the place to become a BarkBox explosion. No one was sorry.

A quick note about summer Evening Garden Sessions:
• 80°F and cooler — We’re good to go.
• 81–89°F — I’ll evaluate the conditions and reach out if we need to adjust.
• 90°F and above — We’ll reschedule or move into the studio.

Beautiful portraits are important. Keeping dogs and humans safe and comfortable is more important.

The studio may not always remain tidy—but it is delightfully cool.

One year old and he’s runnin’ the show,
Through the bamboo forest—go, Ziggy, go!
Vinnie’s his bestie, Roxy’s ride or die,
Avanti grabs the tug and the fur starts to fly.

Paws up high—that’s his number-one trick,
Cheesy little biscuits make him lightning quick.
Bre does his nails, though he puts up a fight—
Favorite pawdicurist, but the clippers still bite.

Long white legs and those fabulous ears,
He’s packed a whole lot of Ziggy into one little year.

The gardens are affectionately known for having the smells of 1,000 dog butts.

For Curry, a basset hound, this was both heaven and a serious professional responsibility. Having his portrait taken was really cutting into his sniffing time.
