What an incredible night of racing for the Adult 270 Micro Sprints "Brothers Tribute Race" last Saturday at Blanket Hill Speedway! Before the adults took center stage, the Junior 270 division hit the track for their feature event, setting the tone with an epic battle. Grady George and Nick Sherrin went toe-to-toe trading hard-fought laps at the front, but when the dust settled, it was Grady George who captured the win and drove into victory lane, with Sherrin taking home a strong 2nd place (unfortunately, Jonah Young was unable to answer the bell to start the feature).

With the track primed, 30 hungry Adult 270 Micro Sprints checked in and 22 starters went to war for a massive $2,737 payday. The excitement started early in the heat races with intense, wild three- and four-wide battles all over the clay.

When the A-main rolled out, Garrison Zook grabbed the pole position and put on a driving clinic, leading flag-to-flag and never looking back. Steve Dunmire and JT Horwat gave chase every single lap, but nobody had anything for Zook as he locked down the big win.

Behind them, Chase Metheney put on another stellar performance, driving that classic 1996 chassis to a rock-solid 5th-place finish. The race saw its fair share of cautions, but survival was the name of the game with 22 cars taking the green and 17 machines crossing the finish line when the checkers flew.

What an absolute thriller in the Junior Sprint division this past Saturday night at Hill Speedway! Joey Zambotti experienced a true whirlwind of a race, starting the night strong by winning his heat and jumping out to the early feature lead.

An unfortunate mid-race accident sent the #17 spinning to the tail of the field, setting the stage for a wild battle upfront. Harley Drohn and Carson McFerren traded hard-fought laps at the front, with a late-charging Lizzy Price throwing her hat into the mix to make it a multi-car dogfight for the win.

Refusing to quit, Zambotti put on a masterclass in driving through the traffic, carving his way back from the rear of the pack all the way to the front before the checkers flew. When the dust settled, Joey brought the sharp #17 right back into victory lane after an incredible comeback drive.

Carson McFerren crossed the line in 2nd, with Harley Drohn coming home 3rd. Lizzy Price and Dalton Brezinski rounded out a hard-earned top five. Congratulations to Joey on an unforgettable drive and to all the kids on another exciting night of racing!

What a dominating run by Maverick Hawkins in the Bandit division this past Saturday night at Blanket Hill Speedway! Hawkins led every single lap from the drop of the green flag to secure the feature win.

Gunner Steinheiser drove a strong race to finish second, followed by Carson Kraisinger in third. Rounding out the top order were Jacob Sadecky in fourth, Parker McDonald in fifth, Cole Zambotti in sixth, and Lane Young in seventh.

It is incredible to watch this division grow; the continuous improvement and racecraft displayed by every single one of these young drivers week after week is phenomenal. Congratulations to Maverick and all of the drivers on a great night of racing!

Photos from Saturday night at Blanket Hill Speedway will be posted tomorrow! Had a bit of a glitch with the software I use to process them for posting. Reached out to support for a fix and one was provided, but I won't have a chance to process them until tonight/tomorrow. For fun, here's an example of what it was doing to my images... Unless everyone loves dark and green tinted photos, I'm sure you'll be fine waiting another day 😂.

The ground-shaking rumble at the track wasn't just coming from the big V8 engines at Blanket Hill Speedway —the Vintage Series brought serious thunder and non-stop action all night long!

Things erupted immediately on the start of the first heat race with a wild pileup heading into Turn 1. Two cars ended up locked together, but thanks to quick work by the track crew, they got separated and both were able to stay in the fight.

From there, it was a flat-out slugfest between Dave Cornish in his Mopar-powered Coupe and Wally Stock, the winningest driver in Vintage series history at the 1/5-mile dirt oval:

In the heat race, Wally timed a restart to perfection to sn**ch the lead, but Cornish dug deep and powered right back around him a lap later to take the checkers.

The feature served up an incredible replay of that battle. Stock looked primed to take command and drive away, but Cornish unleashed that Mopar horsepower once again, reclaiming the top spot and never looking back to seal the Feature Win!

Top 5 Finishers:

🥇 Dave Cornish – Feature Winner and First Time Feature Winner! 🏁

🥈 Wally Stock – 2nd Place

🥉 Rich Cavallo – 3rd Place (Strong, consistent run all night!)

4️⃣ Tim Beatty – 4th Place (Kept the sharp red #19 clean and fast)

5️⃣ Paul Bacchus – 5th Place (Brought the bright yellow #31 home for a solid top five)

🏁 Honorable Mention: Shoutout to Mike Rosselle! Normally wheeling Dwarf Cars and Mod Lites, Mike strapped into the Roger Stivenson #9 Coupe for its maiden voyage and his personal debut in the Open Vintage class. Even though he had to pull off before the checkers, it was awesome seeing him turn laps in the big car!

The action stayed hot right from the green flag in the Adult and Junior 270cc Micro Sprints Saturday Night at Blanket Hill Speedway, where the Junior class ran mixed right in with the Adults!

The fireworks cooled down just in time for the first heat race, where a few close calls left behind a little bent sheet metal—luckily, everyone kept their foot in it and raced through without bringing out a caution.

When feature time rolled around, Parker Lucas stole the spotlight once again for the Adults. Wheeling his brother’s car, Parker proved that it doesn't matter what machine he's sitting in—he's one tough competitor to beat!

Behind him, the battle throughout the Adult top five was electric:

Chase Metheney rolled out a decades-old chassis and put on a wheelman's clinic to bring home a fantastic 2nd place.

Sean Price bounced back from some wild airtime in hot laps (keeping it on all four wheels!) to grab a hard-fought 3rd place, hopefully kicking the bad-luck bug for Price Family Racing for good.

Conner Metheney crossed the line in 4th place, capping off a huge night for Team Metheney.

Spencer Bacha shook off the mechanical gremlins to round out the top five with a very solid 5th place finish.

In the Junior 270cc division, the younger drivers put on a serious show holding their own and keeping right up with the adult field:

Nick Sherrin stayed right on his bumper to take a close, hard-fought 2nd place.

High speeds, tough breaks, and pure speed in the Junior 600cc Wingless Micro division last night Blanket Hill Speedway! 📸🏁

After a chaotic heat race incident in turns 1 and 2 that ended Zoey Bartone’s night early (glad to hear she’s doing okay!), the field reset for a thrilling feature. Bradley McNany proved untouchable out front, holding off a relentless charge from Dalton Andrews to take the checkers! 🥇

Shoutout to Bentley Dull for keeping his strong podium streak alive in 3rd, Carlie Bresinski recovering nicely for 4th, and Owen McFerren rounding out the top 5 with a very complete night for the OCAM Race Team!
