Being a new wife has come with lots of changes. There’s days where life’s a dream. You’ve finally “made it”. You’re in that place in life you’ve always dreamt of since you were a little girl. To have a house to uphold and a husband to greet and cook for at the end of the day.
Other days it’s not the sweet fantasy you once thought it was. It feels like that huge mental list of to-do’s is about to swallow you whole.
When life gets on the overwhelming side, we tend to put our walk with God on the back burner. We become spiritually dry. I know, because I’ve walked it before.
I once read on a blog post that something you can do, maybe even before that huge to do list, maybe even before that morning coffee, is clean you sink.
“Clean....your sink?” You heard that right. Take a big deep breath, grab some Barkeepers, bleach, whatever you like, a sponge, and get to cleaning. Turn off the tv, silence your phone, just get quiet with God while you scrub away the days prior. Tell God your worries. Tell Him your dreams. Ask Him questions. Or simply just praise him. And then wash away all the mess. Glean at your work. And then fix your morning coffee and bask at your new sink while you reminisce on the quiet time you just had. Now, you’re ready for the day ahead.
Reset your mind, reset your heart,
Clean Your Sink.”
