All I see is shapes now…..

Can you see it? What we consume for sure influences what we produce. I am spending hours upon hours in front of illustrations and spending just as much time drawing sketches and when I go out to make photos my mind is still there.

The trick is to not fight it and see what comes of it. Who knows my best work could spark from all of this graphic design work.

Evolution always a student.

Why am I sharing all of this? Especially running!

It’s simple really I have BIG goals! And I would hate if I could not meet those goals because my body couldn’t keep up.

So I run, I run so that future me can walk miles on end, run to the next terminal because my connection sucked between flights, or to just spend the day out and about. I run so that the machine can be in line with my aspirations.

I saved you guys the agony of hearing me die in the heat and decide to film this afterward.

Ok just your friendly reminder to not lose sight of taking care of yourself.

Visual Language in Graphic Design

This has really been pushing my photographic eye. In graphic design the goal is to communicate a thought, idea or feeling. It’s why I choose it as a major going back to University.

I’ll try to highlight these principles in the captions as I post to reinforce some of these reels or thoughts.

But if you see something that’s catches your eye either now or in the past that you can remember within photography, maybe this will explain why it did.

Moving forward I’ll try to accompany images along side the layouts, but for now let’s see if these is something you guys find useful.

90 & 24mm

I really like the 90mm 2.8 it’s such a great lens, easy to carry around (perfect size). And the 24mm is such a fun lens. Takes some getting used to (still working it) but I still need the external viewfinder for the MP, so I am kind of guessing here; but still fun to use.

Getting back in the swing of things, classes started back up (Graphic Design) so bear with me.

I’ll be posting some more digital here the coming weeks, taking a portrait class so be prepared for a lot of head shots… of course I’ll do my best to keep it at least environmental.

A mixed bag of lenses.

Shot on the Leica Camera USA 90mm Macro & 90mm Elmarit, and the 35mm Mandler lens

Now the question is which is which.. pretty sure the second shot was the Mandler, the portraits were the 90mm Macro (without the macro adaptor) and the rest were the 90 Elmarit.

All the lenses were borrowed or lent to me by the fellow Leica Bro’s here in Texas. Tag 🏷️ accordingly.

Still working thru some film mostly on the 90mm Elmarit, so hopefully I’ll have more images to showcase what I love about this lens, and why it’s on my short list of items I need to have.

Any other 90mm shooters out there?

I should have taken the deal 🤦🏻‍♂️

I like the look and feel of this lens, so much so I am kicking myself for not working with Mandler lens with this 35mm.

I had the opportunity to get this lens from them and review it but I don’t like just having lenses for the sake of having lenses and I already have the 35 Summicron, so I didn’t want them to send me a lens that I would ultimately not use often or at all.

I was really hoping to try out there 50mm they had just released but they didn’t have any loaners available, so I told them exactly what I mentioned above and passed.

But then I remembered my buddy had purchased the lens and I asked if I could shoot it. And of course I was pleasantly surprised by the lens.

First off I love a lens that just feel right on the camera and the lens does just that. Rendering is nice, for sure it has a look (vintage) sharp center, soft around the edges.

I’ll make a reel here shortly to give some more thoughts on it, but for now here are some shots taken on Leica Monopan 50.

Next I’ll be sharing some shots on the 90mm, till next time.

Contax G1 & G2 better than you might think.

These cameras have the extreme reviews, either extremely sought after or extremely bad mouth..

But one thing for sure is they are fun to use. I am not a techy person, if I like how something feels and gives me results I am pleased with… well that’s pretty much it.



The 16mm fixed f8 is something to truly explore if you can swing it (considering the price tag).

It will take some getting used to like any piece of gear but I think the learning curve is manageable. Might cost me a few rolls of film (hopefully not to many 🥴).

The 90mm I have seen, read and heard mostly bad things about the lens… but from what I have seen, I love it.

For sure something I plan to use more often.
