This photo shoot was a dream come true for us! While in Cartagena, Colombia for a mission trip, we were able to take time out to photograph this couple. Their passion for life and one another resonated in every photo.

Did you know photography is also a universal language? It crosses all language and cultural barriers. A snapshot of a moment is one that even the most remote cultures can look at and read. Our time with the beautiful Wayuu people of La Guajira, Colombia allowed us to capture special moments of joy, discovery, and wonder. 1,800 miles from what we currently call home, is a place called San Basilio de Palenque, Colombia. The rich culture and it’s history gave us so much to learn about. We had the honor of being invited to sit among such beautiful Afro-Colombian people to partake in their community. This is one of those photo shoots that make our love for photography such a grand adventure. We had been looking forward to it for weeks. When the day finally arrived, the weather forecast brought us so much rain. What did we do? We asked God to clear the skies in time for this college graduate’s shoot.
And as if on cue, not long after we arrived at the location, the sun made it’s grand appearance and made New York City’s buildings look so stunning and such an incredible backdrop for this incredible single mom who just finished her degree. Wow!
