🌆✨ Flying high above San Antonio with my DJI Mini 3 to capture the iconic Tower Life Building in stunning 4K! 🚁

This neo-Gothic gem, standing tall at 404 feet, has been a cornerstone of our city’s skyline since 1929. 🏙️

Originally named the Smith-Young Tower, it was designed by local architects Atlee & Robert M. Ayres and once housed San Antonio’s first Sears store, where you could buy everything from wedding rings to entire homes! 💍🏠 Did you know Lyndon B. Johnson bought Lady Bird’s wedding ring here for just $2.98? 😮

This 31-story masterpiece, with its eight-sided design and iconic green Ludowici tile roof, held the title of San Antonio’s tallest building until 1968. It’s even starred in movies like Cloak & Dagger and Miss Congeniality! 🎬 Fun fact: it was once a mooring mast for blimps and hosted daring aerialist stunts in the 1950s.

A Breezy Calm Before the Storm Over San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country 🌬️🌥️

I took my drone up to capture some unique views of San Antonio and the Hill Country just before the recent storms moved in. The skies weren’t completely still — a steady breeze was blowing, hinting at the approaching weather changes. There was a quiet energy in the air, with clouds gathering and winds picking up slightly, setting the stage for the hail and rain that followed.

These photos show the landscape in that in-between moment — not quite calm, but not yet stormy — a reminder of how dynamic Texas weather can be. The storms brought hail as large as golf balls, gusty winds, and 1-3 inches of rain in many areas, leaving behind some damage but also much-needed relief.
