My father was a hobby photographer and during my younger years, he had a darkroom in our basement where he developed his own film and prints. Through him, I was always captivated by the thought of freezing a moment in time, forever. During my early 20's, I received a 35mm camera that I used to record the lives of my young family...although worn out beyond repair, it still has a place in my house.
As my father aged, his interest in photography grew even more with the introduction of digital photography. It brought so much joy to his life, and with his natural need to share all the excitement, he surprised me one day with a digital DSLR of my own. Together we spent many photo outings capturing the SA missions, zoo, countryside, and family. My dad passed away nearly five years ago, not long after I discovered a whole new level of photography with off-camera lighting. Thanks to family and friends who have been more than patient with me and my obsession....and thanks Dad for your love and inspiration!
