On Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at approximately 1:22 p.m., 36-year-old Alyse Brown turned herself in at the Barstow Police Department Detective Annex. Brown was subsequently booked into the San Bernardino County Sheriff's High Desert Detention Center for PC 187(a) – Murder.
The following information was previously released regarding this investigation:
On Friday, January 16, 2026, at approximately 11:39 P.M., Barstow Police officers responded to the area of the 200 block of N. First Avenue regarding multiple reports of shots fired.
Officers arrived on scene and began looking for a victim and any witnesses. While on scene, Barstow Community Hospital contacted dispatch to report that a shooting victim had just arrived for treatment. Officers responded to the hospital and found a 27-year-old female victim, identified as Jessie Moore, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Hospital staff later pronounced Moore deceased.
Barstow Police Detectives and Evidence Technicians responded and assumed the investigation. Detectives interviewed several witnesses, gathered evidence, and identified the suspect as 36-year-old Barstow resident Alyse Brown.
Detectives obtained a warrant for PC 187(a) – Murder, for Brown, who is currently at large and is considered armed and dangerous.
