Cherokee Dock is one of those venues where you could photograph all day and still find another beautiful spot. 🤍

The water, the grounds, the estate... SO much variety without ever having to leave the property.

And sneaking away for a few sunset photos by the lake? Always worth it.

Don't schedule every minute of it.

Leave a little breathing room. Things will run late. Someone will disappear before family photos. Your bustle will take longer than expected. 😂

And that's okay.

Located near the ocean in Del Mar, the property combines relaxed California elegance with beautiful grounds, refined event spaces and access to some of North County San Diego’s most memorable coastal scenery.

We especially love the transition from the venue’s polished garden and architectural spaces to the movement and softness of beach portraits. Those contrasting environments create a gallery that feels varied while remaining cohesive.

For couples planning a wedding here, we recommend coordinating portrait time carefully around sunset and allowing extra time for movement between the resort and coastal locations.

Today we are celebrating and the care they bring to every celebration.

The most effortless wedding days are almost never effortless behind the scenes.

They are created by planners who have spent months thinking through the timeline, guest experience, vendor communication and hundreds of details most people will never notice.

A talented coordinator does far more than keep everyone on schedule. They protect the couple’s experience. They solve problems quietly, create room for meaningful moments and give every creative partner the ability to do their best work.

As photographers, we are especially grateful for planners who build realistic timelines, communicate clearly and understand that beautiful imagery often comes from allowing a wedding day to breathe.
