This was my final photoshoot before I moved to Guatemala. This dear friend has known me for nearly 20 years and moved back to San Diego 8 months ago after 5 years away. She’s a friend I’ve truly needed in this season of transition and I’m so grateful I got to photograph her family before I left!

Moving to another country is no joke…🥴 but we are entering week 4 and loving our time here. We can now ask for things at the grocery store, order at a restaurant and hold a conversation with 50% (give or take 😅) comprehension. I’m especially proud of our kids who are rocking language school and will most likely be fluent by Christmas.😂

2 final weeks left of summer & 8 weeks until we move.😅🙏🏻 We’re spending our final week of summer break in Kauai and could not be more excited!! We’ve never been so I’ll take any and all recommendations for food/hikes/snorkeling/etc. 👇🏼

Friendly reminder to capture your tweens & teens.🤗 They may roll their eyes on the way to your session or whine and complain about the outfits you chose, but in the end it is always, always worth it. This stage of your kids’ lives is one that passes faster than you can imagine, making it all the more worth capturing. 💜

Still swooning over all of the GREEN Georgia offers! I’ve only shot outside of California a few times and every time I do it’s such a treat! I love the beauty of the ocean but there’s something dreamy about lush foliage.

CONFESSION:: I cried on Mother’s Day. It was not an “oh-my-goodness-I’m-so-blessed” kinda cry. It was a “this-is-really-really-hard-and-why-can’t-my-kids-get-along-on-mothers-day”😡 kinda cry. 🥴 Lots of fighting, complaining, and discontentment from 4 small humans I was trying to enjoy on my special day.

If your Mother’s Day wasn’t perfect, know that you’re not alone. You can hold space for loving your kids to pieces while also wanting them to leave you alone.✌️ It’s the both-and of motherhood.

Each session these days is bittersweet. If you haven’t heard, our family is moving to Guatemala at the end of September! We’ll be working as short term missionaries for an organization called Hope of Life. We’re excited, nervous, and living each day in hopeful anticipation for the season to come.

With this move comes lots of goodbyes, one of which is to this business. I’ll be taking clients through mid-August and hope to capture as many families as I can before then. 🥹

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve shared any recent sessions. This one definitely deserved a spot in my feed though! Meeting new clients is always a treat, but capturing old friends I haven’t seen in awhile is so so special for me. Can’t wait to capture their sweet baby #3!🥰
