That moment when the rest of the wedding seems to disappear. ❤️

Just the two of you, surrounded by everyone you love, having your first dance as husband and wife.

I love photographing first dances because there’s so much happening in such a small moment — the way they look at each other, the nervous laughs, the hands pulling each other closer, and all the emotion that comes with realizing, we’re actually married.

There’s something pretty incredible about having the Star of India almost completely to yourself in the early morning light. ⚓️☀️

For this San Diego wedding, we started the day with some portraits aboard the Star of India at the Maritime Museum of San Diego — and honestly, I could have stayed there all morning.

The soft morning light, the ship, the harbor, and a couple completely in love… this is exactly why I love photographing weddings in San Diego.

Your wedding day doesn’t have to be all about the big moments. Sometimes the quiet ones, before the day really gets moving, end up being some of my favorites.
