The first time I heard the story of Coatlicue, it impacted me so much. I always remember the story of a powerful mother defending her pregnancy against everyone, including her own sons and daughters, knowing that the life in her womb was precious and had a purpose. Sure enough, this new being came to life in the right moment: Huitzilopochtli, the god of war, came to defend her mother and balance the life of their universe. They all are an analogy of the earth, the sun, the moon and the stars. A powerful story to remember on the winter solstice.
Thanks to .mother for helping me create this image, I’m sure this was meant to be made with you. Thanks for sharing your connection with Coatlicue and collaborate with me.
