It boggles the mind some of the abstract locations where waves can be found throughout Indonesia. Places you think would never possibly get waves, not only get surf, but get really good and fairly consistently. On the other hand, some places where you’d think there would always be big surf on exposed south facing coasts, can be just the opposite, requiring huge swell just to register. I’m a firm believer that tides play more of a role on pushing swell up into nooks and crannies than most people would give credit, sometimes even more so than the actual swell itself or direction. Either way, there’s still plenty more for us to learn and discover, even in the year 2020. Let me know what you guys think? 🤔

I managed to capture this image a few days ago shooting a sunset that I thought wouldn’t be any good. About 20 minutes after the sun had dipped below the horizon and hardly any light was visible to naked eye, the magic happened. Persistence paid off and it goes to show that you never know when your gonna capture something that strikes you, glad I hung in till the end.

Passing storms during the wet season often lends to impromptu photo shoots with unpredictable results. This spur of the moment shot from yesterday definitely took me by surprise. 🇮🇩 🌅😳
