"العضة القاتلة"
تشتهر منطقة توريس ديل باين في تشيلي بمناظرها الطبيعية الخلابة، لكنها أيضاً موطن لحيوان مفترس شرس، حيوان البوما. تتغذّى هذه المخلوقات المهيبة بشكل أساسي على حيوانات الغواناكو. ومع ذلك، فإن نسبة نجاح البوما في الصيد ليست عالية، خاصة بالنسبة للإناث، التي تعتمد على وفرة حيوانات الغواناكو في المنطقة من أجل بقائها. شوهدت أنثى بوما وهي تتربّص بحيوان غواناكو، بينما تتبعها أشبالها. قفزت البوما، وكادت تعضّ رقبته، لكن الغواناكو تمكّن من الفرار بأعجوبة.

'Power Bite'
Chile’s Torres Del Paine is famous for its stunning landscapes, but it’s also home to a fierce predator - the puma. These majestic creatures primarily feed on guanacos. However, the hunting success rate for pumas is not very high, especially for female pumas, who rely on the abundance of guanacos in the region for their survival. A female puma is observed stalking a guanaco, her cubs trailing nearby. She leaps, nearly biting its neck, but the guanaco miraculously flees.

Honestly, coyotes are my favorite subjects to shot in Yellowstone in winter. They are beautiful, intelligent and truly survivors. They are not as glamorous as wolves, but it is fun to observe them to hunting voles in white snow. In my view, they are much handsome than wolves. More importantly, they are key contributors of wild Yellowstone ecosystems.

A huge bull elk in Mammoth Hot Springs area. I have seen him before, for several years. But surprisingly to see him in this time of year. Usually bull elk only comes down in Fall for rut season. But nice to see him anyway.

Today is Chinese New Year, traditionally we are supposed to get a Red Envelope 🧧 which stuffed with money or gifts from our parents, or elders or respective community leaders, for blessing and good luck of new year. Today I am the one of those lucky ones who get a Red Envelope 🧧 from Sony World Photography Awards as an Open Competition Shortlist Winner😍😍😍

Had a week in Yellowstone National Park for wildlife photography. A lot of wild animals, including wolves (but quite far away). During the week, I merely pass Mammoth Hot Springs, didn’t get a chance to check it out. Today before I head to airport, I decided to pay a visit at Mammoth Hot Springs. I was delightfully treated by beautiful sunrise. How lucky I am.

Only about 750 one-horned rhinos exist in Nepal, most of them in Chitwan National Park. These animals are a major conservation success, protected against poaching while facing threats from habitat loss.
