Join us this Saturday at Bread & Salt for an afternoon of artist talks as each exhibiting artist shares the stories, inspirations, processes, and obsessions behind the work currently on view.
I’ll be discussing my C7 Series, a body of mixed-media work inspired by chronic pain, medical imaging, and the experience of navigating spinal stenosis.
📅 Saturday, June 13
🕔 Artist Talks begin at 5:00 PM
📍 Bread & Salt
1955 Julian Ave, San Diego
Come hear the stories behind the art, meet the artists, and discover what connects these seemingly unrelated subjects.

🚨 Artist talks This Saturday 🚨
My C7 Series will be on view — a body of work exploring chronic pain, spinal injury, and the experience of living inside a body that doesn’t cooperate.
This work is built from my own X-rays, medical reports, and physical interventions — stitched, burned, and reconstructed.
Come hear my story and how I use art as therapy. Plus 4 other wonderful artists tell their stories.

They are the starting points for five very different artists and five very different bodies of work.

Excited to speak about my C7 Series during the upcoming artist talks for the 21st Annual SDSU Art Council Scholarship Exhibition.
Using X-rays, medical imagery, embroidery, and collage, C7 explores chronic pain, neurodivergence, and the body as a site of resistance and survival.
Join us at Bread & Salt alongside incredible artists Tina Mardan, Andrea Mendoza, Ana Saad, and Isa Ybarra.

Mend a piece that explores the environmental impact of denim especially in fast fashion, won the Dean’s Award and will be part of the School’s permanent collection and will hang in the School of Fine Art offices. Special thanks to professor Griselda Rosas for pushing my concepts and opening new avenues for creating.
