Pastaria Vivi () is officially open in Encinitas and it’s kind of a dream if you’re into fresh pasta. Everything’s made daily with 75+ mix-and-match pasta + sauce combos, so you could come back weekly and never order the same thing twice. GF-friendly too!

It’s from a team with serious fine dining backgrounds, but the whole space feels easy and neighborhood-y. It’s a hybrid fresh pasta counter, wine shop, and specialty Italian market where you can browse imported pantry staples, California and Italian wines, olive oils, cheeses, housemade desserts, and even ceramics. Plus, exclusive .creamery gelato from .

Also, a monthly pasta box is on the way for at-home nights. Definitely one to add to your North County rotation.

A spontaneous drive just 30 minutes outside of Anza Borrego to watch the Geminids meteor shower at midnight. I forgot my tripod plate so I had to wedge my camera through the car window to support a very low shutter speed while we froze our butts off at 37°. 🥶 Was it worth it? ABSOLUTELY.

Sign me up when the interiors and menu are as equally beautiful and delicious. 😍 This modern Californian restaurant is open for all-day dining, but the star of the show is their Supper Club prix fix menu and their natural wine offerings. 🍷 P.S. They have an outdoor patio and large open windows for those who are concerned about dining-in!

I'm a sucker for new coffee spots (even if I make my own at home) but this new kid on the block makes a pretty damn good pumpkin sage latte. ☕️ I'm not a big fan of PSL but this one takes the cake because it's not overly sweet. Can we also appreciate this modern looking strip mall!?
