Want to know what’s surprised me most since moving into event photography?
I expected to enjoy the photography.
What I didn’t expect was to enjoy just being there.
What I actually find myself watching is the stuff in between. Conversations between sessions. Colleagues catching up after months apart. Two people who didn’t know each other an hour ago, deep in conversation now. The way someone lights up talking about work they actually care about. Watching someone’s face when a point actually lands, or the have that “aha!” moment.
A meeting is never just information changing hands. People are learning together, building relationships, running into someone they haven’t seen in years.
