A star-trail timelapse composite of the great 2018 Blue/Blood Lunar Eclipse. Usually star-trails are best shot without a moon. When the total eclipse happened, the stars came out nice and bright and gave me a chance to shoot this star trails :) Thanks for sharing SidLandscapes www.sidartist.com

Tonight's - a once in a century event (or was it?). Was an amazing experience and first time watching a lunar eclipse for me. The lighthouse setting added to the atmosphere :) This is a composite as the moon traversed through the eclipse to the total red moon and out. Please feel free to share & like Sid Landscapes. I've been experimenting with Vertical Panos off late - and since the crescent moon was up over the bridge and the mindblowing sunrise over San Diego this morning, decided to do a vertical pano (4 images).

Somewhere in the Anzo Borrego desert. It was a full moon, so used no light on the FG/tree. The fog rolled in mid-way leading to the white below the stars.

One of the best sunsets in my life. I was driving down from the Bay Area to SD for the holidays last week when I decide to stop at the Long Beach Light House. At first, the directions sent me to the opposite side, on Pier F -- but when I saw the sunset was on the opposite side, I hurried over the bridge to the other side of the harbor and shot this before the sun went down ( it's actually a 3 shot Pano to cover the width of the harbor :)

Happy New Year! The last full moon of 2017 rising over San Diego Downtown and Fort Rosecrans Cemetery (actually shot last night). There's a story behind this vertical pano aspect ratio and I'm not sure it has been done before. I wasn't trying to be original imho, but long story short, I spent half an hour looking for the moon rising over the mountains but it was all clouded over. When it finally came out, it was way high up in the sky to get a low landscape shot. So I decided to try a vertical panorama instead :) I decided to include the tombstones in the foreground (click the image to see the full pano) -- and this is titled "04192", with due respect, after the first one. Note: this is not a composite but a 4-image pano.

Happy New Year, Friends!
As we usher in 2018, I would like to wish all of you a wonderful year ahead :)
From my side, 2017 was a very photographic year. Some of the highlights were clicking the SpaceX launch over the Santa Cruz Lighthouse (see below) and also photographing in Amsterdam. I hope to get out just as often in 2018.
Please do visit my new website to see all the photos from last year: http://www.sidartist.com/Photography and leave me your valuable feedback.
Happy 2018 once again!
