This world is so incredibly beautiful, but it cannot be denied that atrocities also occur within its wonder and beauty. And when these tragedies happen we are often left feeling helpless, unable to provide any real support to those affected. Sometimes we can donate to relief funds, or send supplies, etc but most of the time we are simply left reeling emotionally without any substantial, palpably productive means of helping. So while it may not feel like much, the best thing we can do do is show our solidarity with those affected, and then make an extra effort to pour as much love and goodness back into the world as we possibly can. If we all keep compassion in our hearts and kindness in our actions, the world cannot help but be a better place.

So much going on over here today! I am so ecstatic to finally be able to announce the launch of a project this beauty, Kendra Hittinger: Hair & Makeup Artist, and I have been quietly shooting and working like crazy behind the scenes to put together...our new blog: Moon + Star!

What started as an idea for a simple fashion blog, has evolved over the months into a fashion/beauty/travel/motherhood/lifestyle conglomeration where we will be sharing all of our favorite things, along with beautiful imagery, all sprinkled with our love and joy of life! Best cure for the Monday blues? Love what you do!

Not currently in your dream job or life situation? Get out and CHANGE it. No, it's not always easy. But then, the things that are worth it generally aren't. Yes, it may take time and patience. But you'll get there if you keep at it. It's easy to fall into the victim mentality and feel like you don't have the things you want because circumstances are out of your control. But our lives are OURS. We have this amazing freedom to make our lives whatever we want them to be, if we put in the work and make it happen. So brush off the dust, get out there, and pursue the things that bring you joy and get you excited for Monday to roll around!! 💜💜

In a world of ever increasing complexity, the best advice I could ever give is...keep it simple! Follow your heart, don't over think it, trust your intuition. Strip back the clutter, simplify your life.

In reality, our needs are few - we've simply lived in a world telling us MORE, MORE, MORE for too long. I know I struggle with this personally - I want all the pretty, shiny things! But I'm working to curb the extreme consumerism and focus less on the material things and more on the heart and soul, the things that truly enrich and make life worth living. 💜💜💜
