Everyone panics about June Gloom… and honestly, I don’t!

If you’re eloping in San Diego during May or June, don’t let May Gray or June Gloom scare you away!

Every season comes with its own little weather quirks, but San Diego still offers incredible elopement weather year-round. Those overcast mornings create the dreamiest light for photos, and if the sun decides to peek through, it’s the best surprise.

The weather is one of the few things we can’t control, but we can absolutely plan around it. That’s why I build timelines with intention, keep an eye on the forecast, and always have a backup plan in my pocket.

I’m not worried about the weather, and you don’t need to be either. Let’s dream up your San Diego elopement and create a day that feels like you, no matter what the sky is doing. 🤍

Thinking about a summer elopement in San Diego?

June through August is peak season along the California coast. Beaches are busier, parking can be limited, and some locations restrict weekend permits during the summer months.

The good news? A beautiful San Diego elopement is absolutely possible with thoughtful planning.

Choosing the right location, understanding permit requirements, building a timeline around crowds and tides, and considering a weekday or sunrise ceremony can make all the difference in your experience.

One of the biggest benefits of working with an experienced San Diego elopement photographer is having someone who can help navigate those details so your day feels relaxed, intentional, and centered on what matters most.

If you’re planning a California elopement and wondering when to elope, summer can be incredible. A little strategy goes a long way.

Save this for your elopement planning journey and follow for more San Diego elopement tips, location ideas, and planning advice.

Sunset Cliffs is beautiful because it’s alive. 🌊

The cliffs we all know and love are constantly changing through natural coastal erosion. Waves crash into the sandstone day after day, slowly carving away at the coastline and causing visible cracks, collapses, and retreat along the bluffs. In recent years, sections of the cliffs have noticeably shifted, with some areas now permanently closed for safety. The cliffs are eroding at a recorded 2 inches per year and while sea levels and waves make daily work of this, run off and rains also serve as huge influences on the erosion.

Sea level rise and stronger storm activity are expected to accelerate erosion along San Diego’s coastline, including Sunset Cliffs. City officials have already begun discussing long-term plans to help protect the area as the landscape continues to change.

As photographers and visitors, it’s such an important reminder to respect barriers, stay back from cliff edges, and tread lightly in these fragile spaces. The views are breathtaking, but the ground beneath them is far less stable than it looks.

There’s something emotional about witnessing a coastline slowly reshape itself in real time. A reminder that nature is powerful, temporary, and always moving. 🤍

Your dream clients are making decisions before they ever hit “submit inquiry.”

Within seconds of landing on your website or Instagram, they’re asking themselves:

“Can I trust this person with my brand?”
“Do they feel professional?”
“Do I see myself working with them?”

That's why strong branding photos matter.

Your headshots should feel like you - confident, approachable, elevated, and aligned with the business you're building. No stiff poses. No awkward energy. Just intentional imagery that helps your audience connect with your brand instantly.

If your website, Linkedin, or social media still has outdated photos... this is your sign to refresh your brand presence
