Pursuit Suspect Caught • Chula Vista

At 12:21 AM, May 25th, a male was caught speeding 120 in a 65. He rode up next to CHP and stared at them before taking off. He took off all throughout san diego until CHP and ASTREA managed to track him down to Chula Vista.

The Chula Vista Police Department, National City Police Department along with the California Highway Patrol managed to set up a perimeter around the house and soon was told that the male was spotted going inside of a residence by the helicopter. Police got everyone out of the house and the suspect himself came out wearing different clothes blending in with the rest of the house members and soon was taken into custody.

Fatal Shooting • Eastlake

On Tuesday, May 19, at approximately 10:32 p.m., officers with the Chula Vista Police Department responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting in the Walmart parking lot located in the 1300 block of Eastlake Parkway in Chula Vista. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from a single gunshot wound. Officers immediately rendered life-saving aid until the victim was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased despite medical efforts.

The victim was identified as an 18-year-old male from Chula Vista. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Following the incident, the suspect contacted 911 to report the shooting and remained at a nearby location until officers arrived. The suspect was identified as Thomas Perez, 32, of Chula Vista. Preliminary investigation indicates that Perez and the victim were involved in a physical altercation when Perez allegedly produced a holstered firearm from his waistband and discharged the weapon, striking the victim. Perez was subsequently taken into custody, transported to County Jail, and booked on a charge of murder under California Penal Code Section 187(a).

The Chula Vista Police Department continues to investigate the incident and is seeking additional information from the public. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the San Diego Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477.

This investigation remains active and ongoing. The Chula Vista Police Department appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation.

Foot pursuit • Gaslamp

At 11:17 May 8th, 2026 San Diego Police Department responded out to a report of a violent disturbance at 205th Ave in the Gaslamp area. Upon arrival, a male fled on foot for a short while until officers caught up on the island and eighth. Multiple units were dispatched out as a police officer and a police chaplain were struggling with the man on the ground.

The San Diego Police Department managed to take the man into custody without further incident, although the police officer and police chaplain that was initially struggling with the man received only minor injuries due to rolling around on the ground.

The San Diego Police Department is still investigating and no further details have been released.

Minor injury crash • Pacific Beach

At 20:46 May 4, 2026 the San Diego fire department along with the San Diego police department responded to a 911 call of a nurse stating there was a two vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of Mission Bay Drive and Grand Avenue. The nurse was able to contain the situation until first responders arrived.

Upon arrival the Gray Jeep was spotted with minimal front end damage and a missing tire, and a grey Toyota with a hanging rear bumper and severe damage to the driver and rear driver side door. Everyone made it out of the vehicle except the driver of both vehicles which were taken to the hospital. No details on their injuries were released and DUI seems to out of the question.

Both vehicles were towed away and the incident concluded without further incident.

For context earlier that day 6 people were taken from 3 diffrent cars that day and ICE AND CBP left the vehicles we knew they were comming back to tow the vehicles and the waited, not expecting them to bring a swat team.
