Had such a fun opportunity to travel to Arizona and photograph these two! I was obsessed with the matching Birkenstocks and we had a lot of fun at Watson Lake!

When planning your session, I always get these three questions:

1) Where should we go?
2) When’s the best light?
3) What should we wear?

When it comes to choosing a location, I find that outdoor locations that can provide dynamic angles lend themselves to unique images and a fun experience. I love to keep my couples moving to inspire genuine laughter and document your relationship in ifs truest form.

When it comes to time of day, I personally love blue hour—right after the sun sets. But with the right location, midday sun with lots of shade can also work super well. Sometimes harsh shadows are such a vibe.

Lastly, when it comes to what to wear, I highly suggest neutrals + an accent color. Make sure you choose an outfit that you can move, dance, run, squat, jump in!

When you choose to elope or have a minimony, you actually get to have more time to be fully present with one another. After C + M completed their San Francisco City Hall Ceremony, they decided to go around parts of the City that brought them joy. Despite their upcoming big wedding, they felt that this was a day they could just have all to themselves!

I’ve definitely noticed an uptick of couples choosing to do a civil ceremony or elopement, and then have a big traditional wedding or reception at a later date! I think this is such a wonderful way to extend this season of your lives, and create opportunity to actually experience this time together 💛

Here are some no-pressure ways to make the most of your civil ceremony day:
🌯 Grab your favorite meal together
🏡 Take in-home photos, especially if you moved to a new city together
🌳 Visit a familiar park or neighborhood that you frequent regularly
🏔️ Take a spontaneous road trip to a new trail
💍 Share your private, personal vows beneath the moon
…And so many more ways to make this day so personal to you!

Listen to me when I say that you don’t need an elaborate wedding day to achieve beautiful and striking detail photos. N + C dreamed up an incredibly minimalist day that matched their style and personalities. That gave us the time and space to simply be creative playing with shadows, angles, and interesting ways of telling their story. Their San Francisco City Hall elopement was special, because it was truly just them and me. No other guests to wait on, no one to appease. They simply spent their day exactly they wanted. Heck, they even told me they just wanted to share their vows while cozied up in bed. I can’t wait to share more from their elopement day!

✨ 29 ✨

The past year has been wild, full of really amazing highs and really devastating lows. Photography has taken me all over the place and I’ve met so amazing people and formed lasting friendships. These last few months I started taking my fitness way more seriously, so you’ll catch me at the local Zumba class twice a week 😂 I restarted therapy and have reflected upon myself even more deeply than the first time around. I’m constantly learning more about myself even at 29!

I’m so thankful for my friends and boyfriend supporting me on this crazy, sometimes stressful and risky, but extremely rewarding path. I don’t come from a family of artists or business owners. I’m truly the first in my family to throw caution to the wind and take huge financial risks to create art and build a career out of it! I never thought little Marjorie in middle school with her point-and-shoot digicam capturing “Kodak moments” would be able to say photography is my JOB!

If you’ve been around, thank you for seeing me through this journey. Thank you to all the clients who took a chance on me, especially in the beginning. And later turned into friends! And if you’re new here, I can’t wait to see what magic we’ll create together 💛

My good friends A + J visited from Oregon last week! It was so fun taking their photos while visiting Golden Gate Park! 🥺 Holding a photo session while traveling to a new place is a fun and unique way to experience it!

Both A + J are huge readers. They always have a book on them and enjoy reading together. In fact, one of their non-negotiable San Francisco to-dos was to read in Golden Gate Park! So we decided to capture them in their most authentic form, and I love how it turned out!

It’s only been a few days since they’ve gone back to Portland but I miss them!

M + V wanted a session featuring redwoods, so we took a little walk along this trail and we were just amazed with how far away we felt from the City! They met through salsa dancing, so of course they had to have a little dance break 💃🏽

Also… can we just take a moment to appreciate M’s jumpsuit?! She thrifted this gem and looks fabulous in it!

Lovers at Lovers’ Lane 🫶🏽

S + E were long distance not just across time zones, but across oceans. For the longest, S lived in California while E lives in Australia. S finally made the leap to move to Australia and I couldn’t be happier for them!! Throwback to this really sweet session we had in the Presidio ✨
