I'm in the Bay Area for photos this week with a full schedule. I had my first session today and as usual, I left there feeling so much JOY. 💕

One of my favorite moments from today's Badass Portrait Experience was the sun swimming in through the giant old trees in Golden Gate Park to create a radiant glow around a badass woman standing in all her glorious power. ✨

Wow, 2020. I AM READY FOR YOU. ✨

How are you all feeling, my friends? What's goooood?! Thank you for being here in support of Badass Women Photos 💜

As I reflect on the growth of my business in the past 5 years (FIVE YEARS 😮) and list out my gratitude, you are all at the top of my list. Every single one of you who has referred my photography services to a friend, shared my name and email with someone who mentioned getting new photos, hired me for your own photos, or purchased prints - YOU truly are the most important piece of this pie. (And the only reason I can eat pie, because if you don't get paid you can't afford pie)... soooo THANK YOU! 🥧

I'm feeling SO MUCH creative energy these days, as you can probably tell from this self-portrait that I took last Friday. That's precisely one of my favorite things about portrait photography, I don't have to tell you how I'm feeling, you can clearly see it and sense it yourself from this one rectangular frame. HOW COOL IS THAT?!

I feel grateful every single day for the love and kindness that I get to experience through my work. 📷❤️ I captured these portraits of Michelle a few weeks ago in downtown Phoenix. Like most weekend mornings, the streets were empty and mellow. I love this part of town, it always offers an array of textures, colors, and murals - and no matter how much I explore it, it never fails to surprise me with new treasures. What a sweet morning ☀️

I landed back in the desert after 10 days of photo session in the Bay Area. I’m a ball of emotions right now (always), feeling nourished by the connections, the smiles, the hugs, the deep belly laughs, and all the love. I’m so eternally grateful to be doing this work. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for seeing me and believing in my. 💓📷🔮

I spent the last couple of days photographing an awesome event at Facebook HQ with the London team, it was RAD. I love seeing strangers become close friends in settings where they spend a few consecutive days together learning and engaging in fun activities. I'm grateful to have been a part of it 🤗

My first digital SLR camera was a Canon Rebel. I bought it on impulse, on a knowing deep down in my gut. My friends agreed it was a great idea, a MUST, actually. So we drove to buy the camera, I bought it on credit and we went down to Tempe Town Lake for a test run at sunset. I remember clearly when the store attendant handed me the camera, he said, “this camera is going to change your life.” It did, it has, it still very much does. Each time I use my camera, I’m connecting deeper to my surroundings, getting to know someone new, or learning more about myself. Impulses, deep knowings, gut feelings are some of the ways my heart speaks to me, following them is me saying “I’m listening.” ❤️📸👄
