In honor of Juneteenth today, here is a quick look behind the scenes of our portrait lounge at the EMBRACE Perinatal Care Retreat. This incredible organization is built by and for Black families to reclaim health, wellness, and self-determination.

We loved using our active direction to create a safe, uplifting space where everyone could step in front of the lens, drop their guard, and let their genuine light shine. When you love the community this much, every frame feels like a celebration.

A massive shoutout to our brilliant photographer, Kate Campbell, who held down the camera with absolute grace.

The future of Silicon Valley isn't just written in code; it's built, wired, and powered by the hands of these graduates.

A massive congratulations to the incredible Class of 2026 from the Electrical Training Alliance of Silicon Valley (ETASV)! 🎓

To celebrate that massive achievement, we brought our headshot lounge to the party to give these grads the ultimate editorial spotlight. After years of hard work in the field and the classroom, they stepped out of their work gear and straight in front of our studio lights. Best of all? Thanks to our instant delivery, the graduates walked away from the camera and immediately received their photos in real time.

Seeing the immense pride on the faces of the graduates, their families, and their mentors is a reminder of what true community and dedication look like. 📸

A portrait isn't just about a perfectly lit frame; it's about capturing the soul, the history, and the authority of the person in front of the lens. Documenting the leaders, families, and advocates of EMBRACE Perinatal Care allowed us to do just that.

This incredible organization provides culturally affirming, interdisciplinary care that completely reimagines what maternal health and wellness look like for Black families, helping to shield them from systemic maternal disparities. They are stepping into healthcare spaces to center culture, birth justice, and true mental wellness. 🤎

Every single portrait from this session tells a story of reclamation. As a Black and woman-owned agency, elevating the voices, faces, and stories of our community is the most fulfilling work we do.

The CJP team was honored to donate our services to support the transformative work of SisterWeb () and Birthland (). These organizations are on the front lines of advocacy, ensuring that Black and Brown families are held, heard, and supported throughout their birthing journeys. Documenting a night dedicated to celebrating that joy and resilience was a privilege we don’t take lightly. 🖤

We spent the evening at the flower wall, capturing the radiance of a community that deserves every bit of this celebration. Hearing how much the experience meant to the guests truly warmed our hearts:

Behind the scenes at PlanetHAUS, we were doing more than just documenting the day; we were building a space for these leaders to truly shine.

We thought we'd give you a glimpse into our laid-back approach to portraiture. We know that even the most confident visionaries can feel a little stiff when the lights come on, so our focus was entirely on the direction.

You can see the CJP crew in action here, guiding guests through natural movements and effortless adjustments. We don't believe in forced poses; we believe in finding the posture that feels authentic to the individual. When the energy is relaxed, the camera catches the true personality behind the mission.

It was a joy to connect with the people reimagining our future and to make sure their portraits reflected that same energy.

There’s a specific kind of electricity that happens when the museum doors stay open late. Our squad was on the ground to document the intersection of art and celebration, ensuring every guest felt like the main character of the evening. 🎨
